Clear terms, written the way we do everything.
Thank you for being part of the My True Village Provider Directory. These terms explain how listings work, what we ask of you, and what you can expect from us. We wrote them to be readable, because that is how we do everything. By applying for a listing, accepting an invitation to be listed, or keeping a listing on our site, you agree to these terms.
Section One
Who we are and what the directory is
My True Village ("we," "us," "the directory") operates a curated directory of independent providers who support families through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. We are a visibility platform. We are not a medical service, an agency, an employer, a referral service, or a party to any relationship between you and any family who finds you through the directory.
Section Two
Listings and tiers
Three ways to be listed
Standard Listing (free). Approved providers receive a free listing that includes name, business name, category, service area, a short description, credential highlights, and a website link. Standard listings are free for as long as you are listed.
Featured Listing (paid, optional). Featured providers receive priority placement in their category and region, a Featured badge, a longer description, a photo or logo, an additional social link, and periodic mentions in My True Village channels. Featured is billed monthly or annually at the rate stated at the time you upgrade. Your rate stays locked at that amount for as long as your listing remains continuously active ("founding pricing"). If your Featured subscription lapses or is cancelled, your listing continues as a free Standard listing.
Founding Provider (by invitation). Founding providers receive Featured benefits at no cost for twelve months from their acceptance date, plus a permanent Founding Provider badge. At the end of the free year, you may continue Featured at the founding rate communicated in your invitation, or your listing continues as a free Standard listing. The badge remains either way. We will remind you before the free year ends; nothing converts to a paid charge automatically.
Section Three
What we ask of you
-
01
Accuracy. The information you provide for your listing, including credentials, licenses, certifications, insurance status, and service areas, must be accurate and kept current. Tell us promptly if something changes, especially the status of any license or certification.
-
02
Good standing. If your work requires a license or certification (for example lactation consulting, physical therapy, mental health care, or midwifery), you must hold and maintain it in good standing. If a license or certification lapses, is suspended, or is revoked, you must notify us within seven days, and we may pause or remove the listing until it is restored.
-
03
Insurance. If your work involves hands-on care, you confirm that you carry professional liability insurance appropriate to your practice, as you attested in your application.
-
04
Your conduct. You agree to treat families with professionalism and care. Conduct that in our reasonable judgment is unsafe, dishonest, discriminatory, or inconsistent with a warm and judgment-free experience for families may result in removal.
Section Four
What you can expect from us
-
01
We review every listing personally and maintain the directory with care.
-
02
We will present your listing information accurately and make corrections promptly when you ask.
-
03
We will give you reasonable notice of material changes to these terms or to Featured pricing that would affect you. Founding pricing already locked in is not increased for as long as your listing remains continuously active.
-
04
We do not sell your contact information.
Section Five
What a listing is not
A listing is not an endorsement, guarantee, certification, or warranty of your services, and we describe the directory to families accordingly. We do not supervise, direct, or control your work. We make no promises about the volume of visibility, inquiries, or clients a listing will produce. Families choose and engage providers directly, and any agreement, payment, or dispute between you and a family is solely between you and that family.
Section Six
Content and permissions
You give us permission to display the information, descriptions, photos, and logos you provide (and reasonable excerpts or summaries of them) on mytruevillage.com and in My True Village emails and social channels for the purpose of presenting and promoting your listing and the directory. You confirm you have the right to share what you give us, including any photos. You keep ownership of your content, and this permission ends when your listing is removed, except that archived copies (for example in past newsletters) may persist.
Section Seven
Payments, renewals, and refunds (Featured)
-
01
Featured is billed in advance, monthly or annually, through our payment processor. Current pricing is stated at the time you upgrade.
-
02
You can cancel anytime. Cancellation stops future charges; your Featured benefits continue through the period already paid, and your listing then continues as a free Standard listing.
-
03
Monthly payments are not refunded once a month has begun. If you cancel an annual plan, we will refund the unused full months remaining, keeping the months already used at the monthly rate.
-
04
If a payment fails, we will let you know and retry. If it remains unpaid after fourteen days, Featured benefits pause and the listing continues as Standard.
Section Eight
Removal and ending a listing
-
01
You can end your listing at any time by emailing hello@mytruevillage.com. We will remove it within seven days.
-
02
Listing is at our discretion. We may decline, pause, or remove any listing at any time, including for inaccurate information, lapsed credentials, family complaints we find credible, conduct described in Section Three, or any reason we reasonably believe protects families or the directory. If a Featured listing is removed by us without cause, we will refund the unused portion of any prepaid period.
Section Nine
Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law: the directory is provided as is; we are not liable for the acts or omissions of any provider or family, or for any dispute between them; and our total liability to you for any claim related to the directory is limited to the amounts you paid us for Featured placement in the twelve months before the claim arose (or fifty dollars if you have paid nothing). You agree to hold us harmless from claims arising out of your services to families, your content, or your breach of these terms. Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Section Ten
The ordinary legal housekeeping
-
01
Independent parties. Nothing here creates an employment, agency, partnership, or joint venture relationship.
-
02
Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.
-
03
Changes. We may update these terms; material changes will be shared with listed providers with reasonable notice, and continuing to keep your listing after notice means you accept the updated terms.
-
04
Entire agreement. These terms, together with your application and any invitation email stating your tier and pricing, are the whole agreement about your listing.
Acceptance
How these terms are accepted
For providers accepted into the directory, acceptance of these terms is confirmed by any of the following: checking the agreement box on the application form, replying to your acceptance email with your confirmation, or keeping your listing live after receiving these terms.
